Welcome to Pita Mania!
On January 16, 2012 Pita Mania celebrated its 12th anniversary. We would like to use this occasion to thank all our loyal customers who have sustained us in business throughout the years.
After 12 years at the Lauzon Road store, we moved to a bigger and nicer location in order to accommodate the high demand and serve our customers better. Our new location at 1050 Lesperance Road, in Tecumseh, provides seating for 30 people - of course, take out is still available.
Pita Mania is a unique restaurant, not only in Essex County, but possibly in all of Ontario. I’d like to take a minute to explain why. Each day we prepare enough ingredients to last that day – if we run out, we simply close. We have a limited menu, which allows us enough time to prepare everything fresh on a daily basis.
Every day, we hand-chop romaine lettuce, red onions and field tomatoes. Only the finest products are used. This attention to detail is one of the ways we differ from the mass-production common in take-out restaurants.
The chicken we serve can only be found in 5-star restaurants. Daily, we take a breast of chicken, remove all the skin and fat, leaving 100% pure white meat. We then cube, skewer and marinate it for 8-12 hours. Each chicken skewer is grilled fresh, on the spot, when ordered – it is never pre-cooked. Wrapped in a grilled pita bread, topped with fresh vegetables hand-chopped that day and served with our homemade special sauce, it’s no wonder the Chicken Supreme has become our signature dish! Its reputation brings people back to our restaurant from all parts of Windsor and the County.
As a chef, I am well-known throughout the area from the various establishments I’ve owned and operated. Numerous satisfied customers and people that have worked with me through the years can attest to the quality and taste of meals prepared in my restaurants.
Of course, no matter how good your product is, if you don’t have the proper staff, you can’t pull it off. I’m extremely proud of my staff!
If you decide to treat yourself, your friends and family to delicious and fresh food, I urge you to try Pita Mania. Hope to see you soon!
I’d like to share with you a little-known fact that you may not have heard of before. This is based on my own research and relates to ancient Greek cuisine. (Greek cuisine is like Bob Dylan’s music – everyone has borrowed a piece of it.)
The well-known French soup Bouillabaisse is actually Greek! In the Odyssey, Homer talks about the warriors eating “kakavia” – this is the origin of bouillabaisse. During the Crusades, the soup was introduced to other countries.
